Karan Johar‘s last directorial film was Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani, which came out in 2023. It marked his return to directing after a seven-year break. Since then, he hasn’t directed any other project, but it seems like something new is in the works.
Karan Johar Expresses Excitement To Return ‘Behind The Cameras’ In Latest Post
Recently, Karan shared a series of throwback photos from his directing days, showing his longing to get back behind the camera. One photo features him sitting in the director’s chair, while another captures a moment with actor Hrithik Roshan on set.
In his post, Karan wrote, “Behind the camera, my favourite place…can’t wait to be back🎬” This hints that he is ready to return to direction and a new project could be in the works.

KJo’s Mother Recently Discharged From The Hospital
Karan Johar’s mother Hiroo Yash Johar was hospitalised at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. Though Karan has not released an official statement about the reason for her hospitalisation, reports confirm that she has since been discharged and is recovering at home. Fashion designer Manish Malhotra was spotted visiting her at the hospital, offering his support.
As for Karan’s professional life, his comeback film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani received positive attention and featured stars like Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. There have been rumours that he might venture into directing a web series, following in the footsteps of Heeramandi‘s Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
However, there’s no official update on that yet. Karan’s recent social media post, though, confirms that he is indeed working on his next directorial project.
