Is ‘Organic’ Blockbuster Salaar 2 SHELVED Due To Creative Differences Between Prabhas And Director Prashanth Neel? Here’s What We Know

Salaar 2 has reportedly been shelved due to creative differences between Prabhas and Prashanth Neel. The filmmaker chose NTR 31 instead.

Prabhas‘ action-packed saga, Salaar Part 1 – Ceasefire, stormed the box office upon its release on December 22, 2023. Directed and written by Prashanth Neel, the film soared to success, raking in a staggering Rs 750 crore during its theatrical run. With a star-studded cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan, the movie became a sensation.

Anticipation for the sequel, Salaar Part 2 – Shouryaangaparvam, was high, promising to delve deeper into the conflict between Salaar and the Shouryaangas tribe. Earlier confirmations from Prithviraj Sukumaran, who portrayed Varadha, suggested that the script for the sequel was nearing completion, and filming would commence soon.

However, a recent report from Telugu 360 reveals a surprising twist in the tale. The highly anticipated sequel is said to be shelved indefinitely due to reported creative differences between Prabhas and director Prashanth Neel.

Did Prashanth Neel Choose JR NTR’s Project Over Prabhas’ Salaar 2?

Prashanth Neel’s commitment to a project with NTR further complicates the situation. With the NTR film scheduled to begin shooting in August, Neel’s focus is said to have shifted, leading to the permanent shelving of Salaar 2.

While this development may disappoint fans, Prabhas seems undeterred, with a slew of projects already in his pipeline.

Prabhas’ upcoming ventures include Kalki 2898 AD, Raju Bhai with Maruthi, Spirit directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and an upcoming collaboration with Hanu Raghavapudi. Despite the setback with Salaar Part 2, Prabhas remains a formidable presence in the industry.

Meanwhile, Prashanth Neel is gearing up for his project with Jr NTR, tentatively titled NTR 31. Scheduled to commence filming by the end of August, the film is jointly backed by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts. With Jr NTR set to wrap up Devara Part 1, anticipation is building for his collaboration with Neel.
