It Happens only In India :Memorial Statue Of Blackbuck Which Was Allegedly Killed By Salman Khan To Be Made In Jodhpur ?

The place where the Blackbuck was killed after hunting in Kankani village of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, a huge memorial statue of Blackbuck will be built there in 7 bigha land area. A rescue centre will also be set up for animals and wildlife, more specifically for Deers to look after them.

Times now reported this today that Bollywood Actor Salman Khan was convicted in the Blackbuck poaching case and was sentenced to jail for a term of five years. In September 1998, in Bawad in Mathania, nearby Jodhpur, Salman along with co-actors Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu, and Neelam were shooting Sooraj Barjatya’s film, “Hum Saath Saath Hain.” He was proved guilty by a trial court of violating the Wildlife Protection Act and was charged a fine of Rs 25,000 and a five-year jail term.

Salman Khan is currently out on bail and all other people involved in this case were acquitted. By moving towards this step of making an 800 Kg weighted statue of Blackbuck, the locals want to spread awareness regarding the wildlife and environment.

The statue is huge and is made of iron and cement. The Sculptor named Shankar took only 15 days to present it. The horns on the statue are made from the remains of a dead deer in the forest.
