Parineeti Chopra, the Bollywood actress who has charmed audiences with her versatile roles and bubbly personality, is now a married woman. She tied the knot with Raghav Chadha, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and spokesperson, in a grand wedding ceremony near Lake Pichola (The Leela Palace) in Udaipur on September 24, 2023.
The couple had a dreamy destination wedding that was attended by many celebrities from the film and political circles. Sania Mirza, Harbhajan Singh, Manish Malhotra, Arvind Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann, Sanjay Singh and many others graced the occasion with their presence. Parineeti’s cousin sister Priyanka Chopra, who could not attend the wedding due to prior commitments, wished her sister on social media.
Pre-wedding festivities
The wedding festivities began on Saturday, a day after the couple had a grand welcome in Udaipur. The pre-wedding functions included mehendi, haldi and sangeet. The sangeet night was a spectacular event where the guests danced to the tunes of popular Bollywood and Punjabi hits performed by singer Navraj Hans. Parineeti and Raghav also showcased their dancing skills and chemistry on stage.
Wedding ceremony of ‘Ragneeti’
The wedding ceremony commenced with Raghav’s Sehrabandi at the Taj Lake Palace after which the baraat procession left from the Taj Lake Palace in boats towards The Leela Palace. The jaimala ceremony took place around 3:30 pm, while the pheras took place at 4 pm. The newlyweds looked resplendent in designer traditional outfits as they exchanged vows in front of their family and friends. Parineeti Chopra wore a Manish Malhotra outfit, while Raghav Chadha was styled by his maternal uncle and fashion designer Pawan Sachdeva for the big day. The memorable day concluded with a grand reception starting at 8:30 pm.
Parineeti and Raghav’s love story
Parineeti and Raghav’s love story is one that crossed boundaries of profession, religion and region. The couple met through a mutual friend and hit it off instantly. They kept their relationship under wraps for a long time until they made it official in May 2023 when they got engaged. They shared their engagement pictures on Instagram and wrote, “Our engagement party was like living a dream – a dream unfurling beautifully amidst love, laughter, emotion and loads of dancing! As we hugged those we loved dearest and celebrated with them, emotions overflowed.”
The couple has received a lot of love and support from their fans and well-wishers who have dubbed them as ‘RagNeeti’. They have also been praised for breaking stereotypes and setting an example of interfaith harmony. Parineeti and Raghav have proved that love knows no boundaries and can overcome any obstacle.
