Kriti recently spoke up about the issue of pay parity in the film industry in a recent interview.
Kriti Sanon Feels Some Male Co-Stars Are Paid 10X More For NO Reason
During a recent conversation with Film Companion, Kriti discussed the significant pay gap between male and female actors. She questioned why some male co-stars earn 10 times more than her, even if they haven’t had a hit in years.
The actress stated, “The difference in payment between male and female actors is currently huge for no reason. Sometimes, for no reason. Sometimes, you feel like it’s not like that person has given a hit in 10 years. Then why is he getting paid 10 times?”

Kriti also pointed out that producers are hesitant to invest in films with three A-list actresses like Crew, compared to similar comedies with three male leads. She mentioned that actresses like Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor had to take pay cuts to keep the film’s budget manageable. This reveals the ongoing problem of unequal investment in female-led projects, a situation that hasn’t changed since 2018, when Crew producers Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor supported the female-led film Veere Di Wedding.
About Crew & Kriti’s Upcoming Projects
Crew is set in the airline industry and follows three air hostesses navigating through a struggling airline. The film grossed Rs 102.88 crore at the Indian box office.
Looking ahead, Kriti Sanon is preparing for her next thriller, Do Patti, alongside Kajol. This film also marks her debut as a producer under her banner Blue Butterfly Films.
