Shah Rukh Khan’s action thriller King is still roaring before it rolls. Jackie Shroff is now joining Anil Kapoor, with both actors forming a reunion of the original Ram Lakhan jodi after decades under the over-the-top creative direction of Siddharth Anand.
After the historic box office success of Pathaan, director Siddharth Anand re-teams with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in his magnum opus King. Slated to begin filming on May 20, 2025, King already has one heck of a thunderous cast – Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Suhana Khan, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, and Abhay Verma.
And now, Jackie Shroff has officially joined the project, making it the first time that Shroff and Kapoor are back on screen since Ram Lakhan, sending fans into a frenzy.

According to exclusive sources, Siddharth Anand personally narrated the premise of the film and Jackie’s arc in the story, and it didn’t take long for Jackie, the Hero actor, to say yes. A source said,
“Jackie is very excited to work with Shah Rukh Khan and trusts the filmmaker’s vision, being assured that SRK is one of the most giving producers, and can’t wait for the opportunity to get back in the big-ticket action space!”
Massive Ensemble, Massive Expectations
With Jackie Shroff confirmed, King is now one of the most powerful ensemble films in modern Indian cinema. The film sees SRK as a dark assassin, Deepika as his love interest, Anil Kapoor as his mentor, and Abhishek Bachchan in the role of villain.
“This is more than just an action film. It is a theatrical spectacle,” a source associated with the project said. “We have international stunt teams coming on board to build action set-pieces that will combine raw grit with cinematic flourish.”
Jackie’s character details are being kept closely guarded, but sources suggest he’ll be seen in an intense, surprising avatar, far removed from anything else he has done.
