Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Mr And Mrs Mahi is all set to hit the big screens on 19th April, 2024. The film, which is directed by Sharan Sharma, is a sports drama based on the life of former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

The film was announced by producer Karan Johar in November 2021 and went on floors in May 2022. The film marks the second collaboration of Janhvi and Rajkummar after the 2021 horror thriller Roohi. The film also features Abhishek Banerjee, Rajesh Sharma, Kumud Mishra, Zarina Wahab and Purnendu Bhattacharya in pivotal roles. The film was wrapped on May 1.

Dharma productions shared the post with the announcement poster saying, “Two hearts chasing one dream & it’s just pitch-er perfect!🎬✨
The field is set for #MrAndMrsMahi, coming to cinemas on 19th April 2024.”
Janhvi underwent gruelling training to get into role of a cricketer
Janhvi Kapoor, who plays the role of Mahima, revealed that she underwent a gruelling six months of intensive training in order to adapt to the mannerisms of a cricketer. The Dhadak actress said, “It was an exhaustive process of six months to get into the skin of the character and sync into the role.” Additionally, a source close to the development has also disclosed that the actress worked really hard to meet the requirements of the film and revealed, “She trained in cricket stances – from batting to understanding the body language of a player. The training was tailored as per the film’s needs. It has been a physically intensive film for Janhvi as she also maintained a strict protein-heavy diet to portray the agility of an athlete.”
Rajkummar Rao, who essays the role of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, also worked hard to get into the skin of the character. He learnt the nuances of Dhoni’s batting style, his mannerisms and his leadership skills.
