Janhvi Kapoor On Devara Crew Comparing Her Performance To Mom Sridevi
Reflecting on her time on set, Kapoor shared that her performances often draw comparisons to her mother, the legendary actress Sridevi.
“Whenever I give a good take, they say this was exactly like your mum, which lets me know this was a good take,” she said in an interview with the Times of India.
Kapoor expressed her gratitude for the opportunities she has received and her ability to deliver performances with authenticity and depth. She feels privileged to take on characters with such honesty, a quality she believes she inherited from her mother.
Discussing her latest projects, including the Jr NTR starrer, she emphasised her commitment to portraying interesting characters and telling compelling stories. Despite recognising that it might sound arrogant, Kapoor admitted that looking back on these raw moments fills her with ‘pride’ as an actor.
About Devara Part 1
Devara: Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva, is the first instalment of a two-part franchise. The action-packed film is set against a maritime backdrop and features Saif Ali Khan as the primary antagonist.
Alongside Kapoor, the film boasts a strong ensemble cast, including Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, and Narain, among others.
Originally slated for a 19 May 2024 release, the film’s debut was postponed due to the ongoing elections and pending post-production work. The new release date is now set for 10 October 2024, aligning with the Dussehra festival.
