The much-awaited action thriller Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role, is all set to hit the screens on September 7, 2023. The film marks the Hindi debut of Tamil director Atlee, who is known for his blockbuster films like Theri, Mersal and Bigil. The film also features Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone and Priyamani in pivotal roles.
Jawan fever reaches Chennai
As part of the film’s promotion, the makers are hosting a grand pre-release event in Chennai tomorrow at Sai Ram Engineering College. The event will witness the presence of Shah Rukh Khan, Atlee and other cast and crew members of the film. The event will also have a special musical performance by Anirudh Ravichander, who has composed the film’s soundtrack and background score.
Atlee shares a glimpse of the stage
Ahead of the event, Atlee took to his Twitter handle and shared a picture of himself looking at the stage that has been set up for the event. He captioned the picture as “Can’t wait to see you all tomorrow. #Jawan #JawanPreReleaseEvent”. The picture shows Atlee wearing a black T-shirt and jeans, with a mask covering his face. He is seen standing on a platform and admiring the huge stage that has been decorated with lights and posters of the film.

Jawan is a high-octane action thriller that revolves around Vikram, a commando who sets out to rectify the wrongs in society with help from a group of women. The film promises to be a visual spectacle with stunning action sequences, emotional drama and romance. The film has been shot in various locations across India, including Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Rajasthan and Aurangabad.
The film’s songs have also been well-received by the music lovers. The film has six songs composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The songs include Chaleya (Hindi version of Chalona), Zinda Banda (Hindi version of Vandha Edam), Dhumme Dhulipelaa (Hindi version of Dhumme Dhulipelaa), Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya (a tribute to Raj Kapoor’s classic song), Jawan Prevue Theme and Jawan Title Track.
Jawan is produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment. The film is distributed by Pen Marudhar Entertainment (North India and West India), Red Giant Movies (Tamil Nadu), Sri Venkateswara Creations (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), Sree Gokulam Movies (Kerala) and Yash Raj Films (International). The film will release in standard, IMAX, 4DX and other premium formats on September 7, 2023.
