Ronnie Screwvala, the founder and producer of RSVP, recently tweeted about the box office results for ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Dangal’ while quoting trade expert Taran Adarsh’s most recent updates regarding the Shah Rukh Khan-starring film’s performance in the marketplace. Ronnie deleted that tweet in which he wrote, “Just to be very factual and clear. Dangal is and will remain the highest grossing Hindi movie globally — just in China it did Rs 1200 crore plus. Just so we keep the record straight.”
Adarsh’s stats for Pathaan, which praised it as the highest-grossing Hindi film ever, prompted Screwvala to comment. ‘Pathaan’ has crossed 544 cr domestic gross and has collected 332.80 cr overseas.
‘Pathaan’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, surpassed Aamir Khan starrer ‘Dangal’ as the highest grossing Hindi film ever. The box office on 9th February for the movie was 40 million USD, an incredible sum in the wake of the pandemic. This is the highest ever box office performance for a Hindi film.
Exclusive ALL time Blockbuster: Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan Is Set To Cross 443 Cr Nett Hindi, 458 Cr All India Nett And 887 Cr Worldwide Gross After 2nd Week Today!
Reddit users are still trying to find out the reason behind the deleted tweet. Some people asserted that Screwvala brought attention to the purported inconsistency because UTV/Disney, which supported the Aamir movie, had previously employed him. The Walt Disney Company India today owns UTV Motion Pictures, which was founded by Screwvala.
