John Abraham and Rohit Shetty may collaborate on a thrilling action film. If everything goes smoothly, filming is expected to begin in April 2025.
Many assume that Shetty’s next project will be Golmaal 5, but sources suggest he might take on an action-packed film first. This time, it won’t be a part of his well-known cop universe. Instead, Shetty is developing a standalone action movie, which is still in the scripting stage.
John Abraham In Rohit Shetty’s Standalone Action Film?
A source close to the project revealed to mid-day, “Rohit has had this idea for a long time. After wrapping up Singham Again [2024], he started working on this script while Golmaal 5 is still being finalised. He wants to explore something beyond his cop films and comedy franchise. He has already had a few discussions with John Abraham. If everything aligns, the project could start rolling as early as April. A final decision will be made by March.”
Film To Go On Floors In April With A Straight 45-Day Schedule
If this project moves forward, it will be the first time Shetty and Abraham work together. The film is planned to be shot in Mumbai on a tight 45-day schedule. The source added, “Both John and Rohit have discussed possible dates. They are keen to shoot in summer before Rohit gets busy with Khatron Ke Khiladi 15.”
The timing also works well for Abraham, who will begin shooting his motorcycle racing film in the Isle of Man in August.
When asked, both Shetty and Abraham’s teams did not comment on the project.
For the unversed, John Abraham was last seen in Nikkhil Advani’s Vedaa alongside Sharvari. This film failed to get attention because of a three-way clash with Stree 2 and Khel Khel Mein due to low buzz.
