
Fans of gangster films are eagerly waiting for John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi’s Mumbai Saga. The film is based on true events of the 80’s. Earlier there were reports that the film will get a direct OTT release.
Now, according to a leading daily, it’s been confirmed that this Sanjay Gupta directorial has taken a direct to digital route. The film will premiere soon on Amazon Prime Video.
A source closed to the development revealed, “The film has been sold to Amazon Prime for a hefty sum of Rs 65 crore. With the sale of digital and satellite rights, padded up with the retention of music rights, the production house T-Series have recovered their investment and entailed table profit. The trailer is cut and ready, and an official announcement is underway soon,”
The other three films that are skipping the theater route and opting for a direct OTT route are Kartik Aaryan’s Dhamaka, Sanya Malhotra’s Pagglait and Parineeti Chopra’s Saina Nehwal Biopic.
Although the makers are still trying to negotiate the financial terms and conditions with Amazon Prime.
