Kriti Sanon is one of the most popular actresses in Bollywood. Over the past few years, she has acted in several commercially successful films. Recently, it was announced that she will be portraying the legendary yesteryear actress Meena Kumari in her biopic. The film will be helmed by fashion designer Manish Malhotra in his directorial venture.
However, there is a not so good about the project as it might face a roadblock. According to media reports, Meena Kumari and filmmaker Kamal Amrohi’s (her husband) son Tajdar Amrohi have threatened to sue both Kriti and Manish over this project.
An angry Tajdar said, “Some industry walas have become absolutely bankrupt and thieves. They have no right to barge in and step into my territory and domain. They are not just thieves but also dacoits.” He stated that the makers announced the film without taking his consent. He then said that he will move to court to stop the project. “I’ll go by what my lawyer will tell me. He said to wait. Both me and my sister Rushksar will file a suit,” he said.

Popularly known as the Tragedy Queen, Meena Kumari is considered to be one of the greatest actresses in Indian cinema. She started out as a child artist and eventually achieved stardom in her adulthood. She did around 90 films in a career spanning 33 years. At the age of 38, Meena died from cirrhosis of the liver caused by overconsumption of alcohol. Some of her best films are Saheb Biwi Aur Ghulam, Kaajal, Parineeta, and Paakezah.

Kriti Sanon Turns Producer
Recently, Kriti Sanon unveiled that she will be turning producer. Her production house is called Blue Butterfly Films and its first project is called Do Patti. The film will star Kajol in the lead role and it will be written by Kanika Dhillion. The project is expected to go on the floor later this year and it will be released on Netflix.
