Recent discussions in Bollywood have once again brought the issue of pay equality into the spotlight, sparked by Priyanka Chopra Jonas sharing her personal encounter with pay disparity. In response, Kangana Ranaut took to social media to express her thoughts on the subject. Kangana asserted that she was the pioneer in the industry to challenge the issue of pay parity and drew attention to the prevalent problem of female actors working without compensation.
Kangana further stated that even today, numerous female actors in Bollywood are still working in films without receiving any payment. Moreover, she alleged that these actors are often pressured to provide additional “favours” in exchange for opportunities.
During a BBC interview, Priyanka Chopra opened up about achieving pay parity in her recent series Citadel, which was a significant milestone in her 22-year acting career. She disclosed that she used to receive only around 10 percent of what her male co-actors were paid, highlighting the substantial pay gap that still exists in the industry. In response to Priyanka‘s revelation, Kangana Ranaut expressed her thoughts on her Instagram Story, stating that she was the first one to challenge the patriarchal norms and fight for equal pay. Kangana also shared her experiences of her contemporaries offering to work for free on the same roles she was negotiating for.

She further claimed that many A-list actresses do film for free and provide other favors out of fear that the roles will be given to someone else. Kangana emphasized that she is paid on par with male actors and believes that others in the industry have no one to blame but themselves.

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has recently come under fire for criticizing a girl who wore shorts and a sleeveless crop top to a temple in Himachal Pradesh. Kangana Ranaut scolded a girl for wearing short clothes in a temple. Describing the past incident with her, Kangana told that even once she was not allowed in Vatican because of such clothes.
While replying to a tweet, Kangana scolded a young woman who entered the temple wearing short clothes.

Whether it is to taunt any Bollywood actor or any film makers, Kangana is in a lot of discussion these days, apart from that , recently Kangana retweeted a tweet on Twitter and wrote about a girl who entered the temple wearing short clothes.
Kangana taunted him saying that these western clothes are invented by white people and promoted by them. Writing further, Kangana says that once such an incident happened with me too. Once when I had gone to the Vatican wearing similar shorts and tshirt, I was not allowed in the premises there, so I had to go back to my hotel room again.
