Kangana Ranaut URGES Audience To Watch Emergency Before Judging Amid Release Delay & Controversy: ‘I’m Standing Alone In Support Of My Film’

Kangana Ranaut urges audiences to watch Emergency before passing judgment, stressing the film's authenticity amid controversy.

Kangana Ranaut is making a bold appeal to audiences as her period political drama, Emergency, faces delays and controversy ahead of its release. The actress, who stars as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, is urging viewers to withhold judgement until they’ve seen the film.

Kangana Ranaut DEMANDS Fairness For Emergency

Kangana, known for her outspoken views, has called for a fair assessment of Emergency. She insists that the film, which portrays controversial historical figures like Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, should be judged on its own merits rather than being subjected to preemptive bans or external pressures.

“Emergency is an authentic film, and if fringe groups are provoking people, the decision should be made after watching the movie. Do not ban it before watching,” Kangana stated passionately. She wants the audience to form their own opinions rather than being swayed by others.

Actress On Lack Of Support From Industry Amid Emergency Delay

Kangana also expressed frustration over the lack of industry support for her film. She highlighted how other films, such as Padmaavat and Udta Punjab, received backing despite facing similar controversies and threats before their release.

In contrast, Kangana feels isolated in her struggle to get Emergency to the big screen. “Films like Padmaavat and Udta Punjab released well, even after all the threats, but when it comes to my film, no one has stepped up. I’m completely on my own,” she lamented.

About The Film

Emergency is set during one of India’s most tumultuous periods and features a stellar cast including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik.

Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, the film’s music is crafted by Sanchit Balhara, Ankit Balhara, and G.V. Prakash Kumar. The screenplay and dialogues are penned by Ritesh Shah.

The film was expected to arrive in theatres on September 6, 2024. However, the delayed certification from CBFC due to threats and other controversies let to the film’s postponement. The new date will be announced soon.
