Kangana Ranaut sparked yet another debate after attending the Times Now Summit 2021. The actress who spoke at the ceremony said that India was handed freedom as Bheek (Alms) in 1947, but it wasn’t until 2014 that the country truly tasted freedom. This has enraged many social media users, the Shiv Sena political party, and others, with many urging the government to strip her of all national accolades. Following her remark, lawmaker Nawab Malik said that the Panga actress had disrespected independence fighters. In response to the escalating issue, she penned a lengthy INSTA Stories to express her point of view.
The Manikarnika actress in INSTA Stories tagging the publication mentioned she is ready to return the Padma Shri she was recently recognized with. Her INSTA Stories, read, “Just to set the records straight. Everything is very clearly mentioned in the same interview 1857 first collective fight for freedom along with sacrifice of greats like Subhash Chandra Bose, Rani Laxmibai and Veer Savarkar ji. 1857 I know but which war took place in 1947 I am not aware, if someone can bring to my awareness I will give back my Padma Shri and apologise also please help me with this.”
