Ayan Mukerji’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani completed 10 years of its release on Wednesday and the team of the film got together to celebrate the special day. A series of photos shared by Ayan has Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Kalki Koechlin, Aditya Roy Kapur, Karan Johar posing for photos that look similar to the film’s poster.
A larger group photo also features producer Karan Johar, designer Manish Malhotra, music composer Pritam, actor Kunal Roy Kapur among many other members from the film’s team. Ayan shared the photos with the caption, “last night ❤️”. Dharma Productions’ handle also shared the photos and wrote, “Doston ke beech kabhi kuch nahi badalta, guys🥹♥️ #10YearsOfYJHD #YehJawaaniHaiDeewani”.
One of the fans commented, “the REUNION we actually needed❤️” Another fan wrote, “Made my day. This is surely the best thing on my feed today!” Fans were delighted to see the four stars of the film together and one of them wrote, “Naina, bunny, aditi and avi together after agesssss🤧🤧🤧💘💘💘”.
In an earlier virtual chat with his fans, Ranbir was asked to name one of his films that “would make a good sequel” and the actor picked Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. The actor said, “I think Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani would make a good sequel.” He added, “Ayan also had a very nice story, I remember, but then he went into this Brahmastra journey. But, never say never. He might make it after a couple of years,” he said. Ranbir said that the story could be set 10 years after the first film ended. “I think the story will be 10 years forward where Bunny, Naina, Avi and Aditi, where they are in their lives. I think it’ll be quite interesting and nice to explore those characters.”

Earlier in the day, Ayan also posted about the film and what it has come to represent. “YJHD – My second child, a piece of my heart and soul – 10 years old today! I think after all these years, I can confidently say that… Making this movie was one of the greatest joys of my life! And what we achieved with it – with all its perfections and imperfections – is a source of great eternal pride for me!
“Strangely, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani fully from beginning to end, since the day it released … (Always pushing towards the next milestone, and not looking back enough…!) But when I’m older and wiser – I think I will watch the movie atleast once a year – because a big part of who I was and how I looked at life – is forever captured in this movie!”
At the time, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani was seen as a coming of age story and was widely appreciated by the audience with blockbuster business.
