Karan Johar Celebrates Success Of Border 2 And Dhurandhar; “All Dhurandhars will cross borders…Bollywood Is Back”

Filmmaker Karan Johar has voiced strong support for Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar and Sunny Deol’s Border 2. He claimed Bollywood is back and said all Dhurandhars will cross borders of excellence when the films strike emotional chords with a paying audience.

Johar emphasised that both films are connecting on an emotional level with paying audiences, marking a notable turn for the Hindi film industry.

In a recent Instagram story, the director-producer wrote, “The mega success of the two recent back-to-back mega Hindi film successes proves one thing…Bollywood (yes, incorrect terminology, but here to stay) is back. Naysayers can fly a kite. All Dhurandhars will cross borders of excellence when the films strike emotional chords with a paying audience (sic).”

Border 2 A Box Office Success

Border 2, which released on January 23, has quickly amassed Rs 129 crore nett in India and Rs 180 crore worldwide within its first three days. The film stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh, and is inspired by the 1971 India-Pakistan conflict, focusing on the Indian armed forces.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar, released on December 5, has been another major success, earning Rs 832.05 crore in India and Rs 1292.2 crore worldwide according to Sacnilk. The film features Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan in significant roles. Its success has raised expectations for an upcoming sequel, scheduled for release on March 19.
