Karan Johar Is ANGRY At General Dyer’s Great-Granddaughter For Calling Jallianwala Bagh Victim A ‘Looter’: ‘How Ridiculous She Is To Say That’

Karan Johar slammed Caroline Dyer for calling a Jallianwala Bagh massacre survivor 'a looter.' Check out what he said!

Filmmaker Karan Johar didn’t hold back when he reacted to a viral video featuring Caroline Dyer, the great-granddaughter of General Reginald Dyer. The resurfaced clip from a 2019 Channel 4 documentary shows Caroline calling a survivor of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre “a looter.” Her comment has sparked outrage across social media and Johar is furious too.

In the video, Caroline meets Raj Kohli, whose great-uncle Balwant Singh survived the 1919 massacre by hiding under bodies. While Kohli described his uncle as a fiery and rebellious man, Caroline cut in and said, “Ah, he was a looter, was he a looter?” Kohli instantly called her out, reminding her that the victims were innocent people, not rioters.

Caroline made things worse by adding, “I think history is history and you’ve got to accept that and not wallow in it.” Many online slammed her remark as cold and dismissive.

Karan Johar Calls Out Caroline’s ‘Looter’ Comment

Speaking at the promotional event for Kesari Chapter 2, Johar said, “I don’t want to mince my words, be diplomatic in my answer or certainly beat around the bush when I say, how ridiculous she is to say that and how dare she?”

He reminded everyone that the victims had gathered peacefully on Baisakhi and had no idea what was about to happen. He added, “They were innocent people… and look what happened.”

The filmmaker also addressed Caroline’s praise for her great-grandfather, who led the troops that opened fire on the crowd. He said, “Khoon khaulta hai jab maine wo video dekha with the fact that she has such disdain for one of the biggest genocides in the history of our nation and the world. The fact that she was disdainful of it makes me just angry and want and demand an apology even more.”

He also reminded people that General Dyer admitted to only stopping the firing once they ran out of bullets. He questioned, “What love can you have in your heart when your actions only spoke of hate?”

Johar didn’t hold back his anger toward Caroline either. He said, “I don’t know her. I haven’t met her and I don’t wish to meet her. But the fact that she even said those things just makes me so angry.”

Actor Akshay Kumar, who stars as C Sankaran Nair in Kesari Chapter 2, also shared his thoughts at the event. He said, “One nation’s trauma is another nation’s lesson. That’s why she keeps on saying history is history… I don’t think she has understood the lesson.”
