Karan Johar To Launch Three New Actors In 2024: Ibrahim Ali Khan, Laksh Lalwani And Re-Launch Vedang Raina

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar, who is known for launching several star kids and newcomers in the industry, is all set to introduce three new faces in 2024. The trio consists of Ibrahim Ali Khan, the son of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, Laksh Lalwani, a TV actor who rose to fame with the show Porus, and Vedang Raina, who made his debut in Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film The Archies.

Karan Johar to launch Ibrahim Ali Khan, Laksh Lalwani and Vedang Raina

Surprisingly, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions does not have any new female actors to introduce this year. What’s more, two of three faces, Laksh Lalwani and Vedang Raina, do not belong to any film families. Vedang made his debut in Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film The Archies. However, he is being groomed and transformed by Karan Johar.

According to a source close to the producer, Karan Johar has big plans for these three actors and wants to give them a proper launch pad. “For all practical purposes, Vedang will get a new launch in Jigra. As he was not a child of the film industry, Vedang was not given the same exposure during The Archies as Agastya Nanda, Suhana Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor. Karan wants to re-launch Vedang properly, like a full-on star ready to be born. Karn wants to get away from the image of being a nepo-sugardaddy. In fact, his first big launch this year would be Lakshya Lalwani in Kill, who is from Delhi with no blood relations to the film industry. The only star-kid Karan will launch this year is Saif’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan, who has already assisted him in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani,” the source close to Karan Johar revealed to Times Now.

Karan Johar’s hand-picked projects for the newcomers launch

Karan Johar has reportedly handpicked the projects and the co-stars for these three actors. Ibrahim’s debut film is titled Sarzameen. It was supposed to be an unconventional debut as there is no leading lady opposite him and he’s playing a soldier in the film. The movie also brings Kajol back to Dharma Productions. The film is directed by Boman Irani’s son Kayoze Irani. Post this, he’s set to do a romantic comedy with Khushi Kapoor.

Lakshya will be seen with Shanaya Kapoor and Gurfateh Pirzada in Bedhadak, a thriller directed by Shashank Khaitan. Vedang will be seen with Alia Bhatt in Jigra, a drama produced by Karan and Alia both. All these films are expected to release by the end of the year.

Karan Johar, who has launched actors like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Panday, and Tara Sutaria in the past, is known for grooming and mentoring his protégés. He has also been criticized for promoting nepotism and favoritism in the industry. However, with his latest batch of newcomers, he seems to be breaking the stereotype and giving a chance to outsiders as well.
