Kartik Aaryan is riding high on the success of his recent film, Chandu Champion. The biographical drama directed by Kabir Khan has garnered praise for Aaryan’s compelling performance.
Despite the positive reviews, Aaryan has shared his thoughts on the issue of ‘paid reviews’ in the industry and how he distinguishes them from authentic feedback.
Kartik Aayan Calls Out ‘Paid Reviews’ & Says We Can Spot Fake Ones
During a chat with News 18 Showsha, Aaryan and Khan discussed their film and how they navigate the world of reviews. Aaryan revealed that it’s quite clear to him which reviews are genuine and which are paid.
He noted, “Humein to pata chal hi jata hai kaunse genuine aa rahe hain kaunse nahin and ek hidden motive bhi hota hai” (We get to know which are genuine reviews and which are not, and there is also a hidden motive).
He expressed his amazement at the sheer volume of glowing reviews that are now prevalent. “Everybody is a reviewer,” Aaryan said.
However, he emphasised that he hadn’t received such positive feedback for his previous films. He found the level of praise somewhat “unreal,” and was pleased that audiences are engaging deeply with the film’s content. “This is not just a usual biopic” and “This is not just a sports biopic,” he pointed out.
Director Kabir Khan agreed with Aaryan’s observations. He described how it feels rewarding when viewers notice the finer details put into the film. Khan said, “It makes you very happy when people start picking on the smaller details.”
He highlighted that such attention indicates genuine engagement with the film. “When somebody delves into the layers that a filmmaker has placed there, but they’re not apparent on your face, and still a viewer reaches there, it implies, ‘ke aap film mein pure immerse hue ho'” (that you got fully immersed in the film).
Kartik Aaryan was thrilled to get praise from viewers who didn’t have to give it. He mentioned that some critics have changed their minds about him. “I’ve seen a hater turning into a lover,” he said, reflecting on the positive messages he received after Chandu Champion.
Kartik’s Work Front
After Chandu Champion, Aaryan is set to appear in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 directed by Anees Bazmee. The film will feature Triptii Dimri and Vidya Balan.
According to reports, a special dance face-off between Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit is being planned. A fresh rendition of the iconic song “Ami Je Tomar” will be part of this sequence, showcasing both actresses’ grace and charisma.
