Indoo Ki Jawani starring Kiara Advani which was settled to release today has been cancelled in around 400 cinemas of the country for a mere Rs. 2,000. According to the reports the film did not release in many single-screen cinemas and non-national multiplex chains over the issue of Content Delivery Charge (CDC) which is around Rs. 2,000 per cinema.
The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Nikhil Advani and is distributed all over India by Anil Thadani.
According to the information, the Anil Thadani’s AA Films has asked Cinema Owners to clear all the outstanding with interest for their films like Tanhaji, Shubh Mangal Jyada Savdhaan etc.
Earlier it was said that the producers will bear the CDC but after the commitment, Anil Thadani is said to have told exhibitors that the CDC would have to be borne by them.
Some exhibitors took this matter to their associations. The Eastern India Motion Picture Association (EIMPA) even wrote to Thadani to inform him that its members would not bear the CDC which would. However, things didn’t solve and the single-screen cinemas and non-national multiplex chains failed to get the KDM (Key Delivery Message) this morning (the KDM is the code without which a cinema cannot screen the film). These cinema halls already announced the film, some of them even sold the tickets in advance.
