Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 Box Office Collection Day 1: Kapil Sharma’s Comedy Drama Becomes Disaster With 1.50 Crore Day One

The comedy star returned to cinemas with the highly anticipated Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, but the film failed to attract audiences on its opening day. Despite high expectations from fans, the sequel could not replicate the success of its 2015 original.

According to trade reports, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 earned just Rs 1.75 crore net in India on Friday. The film registered an overall occupancy of only 16.45 percent in Hindi language screenings. The morning shows started with a mere 5.91 percent footfalls, which increased to 13.90 percent during the afternoon. The evening shows saw 17.21 percent occupancy, while the night shows picked up slightly to 28.77 percent. These numbers indicate that audiences were not rushing to theatres for Kapil Sharma’s latest offering.

Why The Film Struggled To Connect

The sequel to the popular 2015 comedy struggled at the box office due to several factors. The biggest challenge was the phenomenal run of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, which has been dominating theatres and attracting most of the audience. Additionally, neither the trailer nor the songs of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 were able to generate enough buzz or curiosity among viewers. The lack of promotional momentum worked against the film in a big way.

What The Film Is All About

Directed by Anukalp Goswami, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 is a comedy entertainer that continues the madness from the first film. The movie revolves around a man who is secretly married to three women of different faiths and is now planning a fourth wedding while trying to avoid getting caught. Meanwhile, a police officer is searching for this triple married suspect as the husband confesses his situation to a priest. The film features an ensemble cast including Ayesha Khan, Parul Gulati, Tridha Choudhury, Hira Warina, Manjot Singh, Asrani, and Sushant Singh in key roles.

Can The Film Pick Up Over The Weekend

The opening day numbers are a concern for the makers, but comedy films often rely on strong word of mouth to pick up momentum over the weekend. The climax scene reportedly brings back memories of classic Priyadarshan comedies with almost every character present, mixing slapstick with straight faced humour. If positive reviews start spreading, the film might see better footfalls in the coming days. However, with Dhurandhar continuing its strong hold, the competition remains tough.
