Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar continues to shatter records, leaving new theatrical releases struggling to compete. One of such films was Kapil Sharma‘s Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2. The film was released in cinemas on December 12, just one week after Dhurandhar and faced a massive box office clash. Following this, the makers decided to re-release Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 in cinemas in 2026, and now the new release date has been revealed.
On January 1, 2026, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 producer Ratan Jain announced that the Kapil Sharma starrer will be re-released in cinemas on January 9, 2026. He wrote on Instagram, “Laughter comes home with this Family Entertainment Reunion #KisKiskoPyaarKaroon2 In cinemas 09.01.26”

Producer Jain shared that Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 has always been made with families in mind, with pure entertainment meant to be enjoyed together. The love, laughter, and positive comments the film has received have reaffirmed our belief in its universal appeal.
“With audiences continuing to ask for more, we felt it was the right moment to bring the film back to theatres and give viewers another chance to experience its humour on the big screen. We’re delighted to return with a film that celebrates joy, laughter, and wholesome family entertainment,” he said.
Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2: Plot
Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 is a comedy film starring Kapil Sharma in the lead role. The story revolves around Mohan (Kapil), who is supposed to marry his girlfriend Sania, but due to family opposition, he marries a woman from three different religions (Hindu, Muslim, Catholic), which causes him to face many ridiculous problems to keep all three of them happy and hide his true identity. The film also stars Hira Warina, Tridha Choudhury, and Parul Gulati, among others.
Keeping the main theme as comedy, the film is based on a man’s efforts to keep multiple wives happy and the complications that arise as a result. It attempts to portray conflicts between religions (interfaith relations) and identity crises through humour, although reviews indicate that this aspect is not properly incorporated into the story. Love, marriage, and family drama are also central themes of the film, where the protagonist tries to overcome many religious and social obstacles for his girlfriend.
