Kriti Sanon Congratulates Alia Bhatt On Sharing Best Actress Trophy In National Awards

The 69th National Film Awards were announced on Thursday, August 24, 2023, in a ceremony held in Delhi. Among the winners, two actresses shared the prestigious award for Best Actress: Kriti Sanon for Mimi and Alia Bhatt for Gangubai Kathiawadi.

Kriti Sanon Pens A Heartfelt Note On Winning National Film Award For Mimi

Kriti Sanon, who played the role of a surrogate mother in Mimi, took to Instagram to share her happiness and gratitude after winning her first National Award. She posted a picture of herself holding the trophy and wrote a heartfelt caption.

“ELATED – OVERWHELMED – GRATEFUL

Still sinking it in.. pinching myself.. this has actually happened! The National Award for Best Actress for Mimi! Thank you to the jury who considered my performance worthy of the most prestigious award! It means the world to me!

Dinoo, I can’t thank you enough for believing in me and my potential, for standing by me always and for giving me a film I’ll treasure all my life!

Laxman sir.. You always told me “Mimi, dekhna aapko is film ke liye National Award milega” .. Mil gaya sir! And I couldn’t have done this without you.

Kriti Sanon Congratulates Her National Award Co-winner, Alia Bhatt

She also congratulated her co-winner Alia Bhatt, who portrayed the titular role of a brothel owner in Gangubai Kathiawadi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She wrote:

“Congratulations Aliaaaa! So so well deserved! I’ve always admired your work and I’m too excited that I get to share this huge moment with you! Yayyyiiee!! Biggg hug

Alia Bhatt celebrates her second National Award

Alia Bhatt, who had previously won the National Award for Best Supporting Actress for Udta Punjab in 2017, added another feather to her cap by winning the Best Actress award for Gangubai Kathiawadi.

She also congratulated Kriti Sanon.

Other winners at the National Film Awards

The National Film Awards also honoured other films and artists from various languages and genres. The Best Feature Film award went to Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, starring and directed by R Madhavan. The Best Director award was given to Nikhil Mahajan for Godavari. The Best Actor award was won by Allu Arjun for Pushpa: The Rise. The Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment award was claimed by RRR, which also won awards for Action Direction, Choreography, and Special Effects.

The Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration was awarded to The Kashmir Files, starring Pallavi Joshi, who also won the Best Supporting Actress award. The Best Supporting Actor award was given to Pankaj Tripathi for Mimi. The Best Hindi Film award was given to Sardar Udham, directed by Shoojit Sircar. Shershaah received a Special Jury Award.
