Kriti Sanon has stirred a fresh conversation online after backing a post that questioned why public outrage over women’s clothing often appears louder than anger over violence against women. Her social media activity has quickly drawn notice, especially because she was at the centre of a similar storm just weeks ago.
The actor shared a post on her Instagram Stories that read, “Guys, it’s not Men vs Women.” It further stated, “It’s women vs patriarchal misogynist men & brainwashed women who think patriarchy is a sanskar.”
She also liked another post that directly called out the imbalance in public reaction. It read, “The fact that rape, domestic violence, and dowry deaths do not invoke much outrage in this country as an actress showing cleavage in a festive ad says a lot about our priorities.”
Fresh Spotlight On Kriti Sanon’s Social Media Move
Kriti’s online response came as discussion intensified around the Jamui case in Bihar, where a Class 10 girl and her male classmate were assaulted and harassed by a group of youths on September 19, 2026. A video of the incident later circulated widely on social media, pushing the case into the national spotlight.
While Kriti did not name the incident in her post, the timing of her activity gave it added weight. Instead of a long public note, she used a Story share and a like to signal where she stands in a debate that continues to trigger sharp reactions online.
What Happened In The Raksha Bandhan Ad Row
The renewed attention also ties back to the backlash Kriti faced in August 2026 over a Raksha Bandhan campaign for a jewellery brand. In the advertisement, she appeared in a bralette-style blouse paired with a cape and draped skirt, which drew criticism from a section of social media users over its festive styling.
As the row escalated, Kriti responded with a pointed line that quickly travelled across platforms. She said, “Culture and Traditions are in her heart, not in her neckline!”
The brand later withdrew the advertisement, citing safety concerns. That episode turned into a larger flashpoint around how female actors are judged in public, making Kriti’s latest intervention feel less like a passing social media gesture and more like a continuation of a debate she has already been pushed into personally.
Kriti Sanon’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Kriti’s film slate over the past two years has kept her firmly in the spotlight. In 2024, she starred in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya with Shahid Kapoor, followed by Crew alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu. She then headlined Do Patti, which premiered on Netflix in October 2024 and also marked her debut as a producer under Blue Butterfly Films, with Kriti taking on a double role.
Her biggest hit released in 2025 November Tere Ishk Mein with Dhanush and Cocktail 2 with Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna was released earlier this year. With Kriti balancing commercial films, streaming releases, and production ambitions, her social media voice is now drawing as much attention as her screen presence, especially when it intersects so directly with the scrutiny she has faced herself.
