Kunal Kemmu is turning director with a comedy film backed by Farhan Akhtar

Kunal, who has previously penned dialogue for films such as Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK's Go Goa Gone, is said to have now crafted a full-fledged script.

Kunal Kemmu, a Bollywood actor who hasn’t been seen on the big screen in a while, appears to be making a comeback of sorts. Kunal, who has previously penned dialogue for films such as Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK’s Go Goa Gone, is said to have now crafted a full-fledged script. If that wasn’t enough, word on the street is that Kunal will be directing his film.

According to accounts, Kunal had plenty of time to perfect his writing skills and construct a script during the two Covid-19 lockdowns. When he was finished, Kemmu approached Farhan Akhtar and Riteish Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment, who agreed to take on the project on the condition that Kunal direct it himself. In terms of the film itself, it’s been learned that Kunal has created a comedy set in a bizarre environment. While casting for the untitled project is now underway, it is learned that the producers want to begin pre-production in early 2022, followed by a month-long shoot schedule.

Kunal, on the other hand, appears to have a busy 2022 ahead of him, with Vipul Mehta’s Kanjoos Makkhichoos and Raj & DK’s Amazon Prime series Gulkanda on the way.
