Lakshya Teams Up With Raakh Director Prosit Roy For A Psychological Love Story Set To Roll In December 2026

Just when Lakshya’s screen journey seemed to be building along one clear path, the actor has taken a sharp and intriguing turn. He is now set to collaborate with filmmaker Prosit Roy on a new untitled feature that blends romance with psychological drama, a pairing that instantly gives the project a more haunting pull than a conventional love story. With Roy’s flair for tension driven storytelling and Lakshya stepping into increasingly layered material, this one already feels like a title worth tracking.

The film is currently in development and is expected to begin shooting in December 2026, with the makers also finalising the female lead. A 2027 release is being targeted, putting the project on the radar as one of the more unusual romantic dramas now taking shape in Hindi cinema.

Latest Update On Lakshya And Prosit Roy’S New Film

Roy has long gravitated toward stories where emotional intimacy is shadowed by something darker. His credits include Pari, Paatal Lok and the 2026 series Raakh, making him a natural fit for a film that wants romance to feel psychologically charged rather than comfortingly familiar. That tonal promise is what instantly separates this project from more standard star led pairings.

For Lakshya, the film opens up a fresh kind of challenge.

A Darker Romantic Turn For Lakshya

What makes this role especially interesting is the performance terrain it seems to demand. A psychological love story is less about surface charm and more about interior conflict, volatility and restraint. That suggests Lakshya will be working in a register quite different from the physical aggression and immediacy that shaped Kill.

With filming scheduled to begin in December 2026 and the female lead yet to be locked, the film is still taking final shape. That also makes this the right moment to place the project within the actor’s current slate and what lies ahead for him.

Lakshya’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Lakshya’s recent run has kept him firmly in focus. Kill released in 2024 and earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. During his acceptance speech, he said, “I never thought I would be nervous, but I am. I would like to thank the Filmfare team and the jury members for choosing me. Like everyone else, even I dreamt about standing on this stage and delivering a speech with an award. Today, my dream has come true.”

He followed that with The Ba*ds of Bollywood in 2025 and Chand Mera Dil in 2026. The Prosit Roy film now gives him a confirmed 2027 project, and importantly, one that adds a new emotional and tonal dimension to his upcoming lineup instead of echoing what audiences have already seen from him.
