Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor delivered one of the finest horror comedy films from Bollywood in the form of Stree. Released in 2018, Stree because a major success and received good reviews. Now, the makers have planned a sequel to the film, and it’s titled Stree 2. Ever since the announcement, the film has created a lot of buzz among the fans of the first installment.
Now, there is another piece of good news for fans. Jio Studios and Maddock Films have officially announced the commencement of the Stree 2 shoot, and looks like things are going to get bigger and better!
Directed by Amar Kaushik, the Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan production teams up with Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee once again. The sequel also promises to bring an array of other fresh surprises. Released in 2018, the original Stree was a beloved blockbuster that redefined the horror-comedy genre.
With shooting officially underway, the excitement will now reach a fever pitch. Prepare to be thrilled, chilled, and laugh out loud as cameras roll on the sets of Stree 2!
Stree Had A Perfect Blend Of Feminism, Horror And Laughs
The first installment explored the issue of a ghost who kidnaps and kills men. With its scare jumps and laughs, the film also talked about the issues of consent and feminism. It struck a chord with the audiences and the film went on to become a critical as well as commercial success. It minted more than 180.76 crores at the box-office, against a budget of 14 crore.
Stree 2 Was Announced Last Month
Last month, Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films announced a slate of films, among them was Stree 2. Around the same time, Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor also took to social media to announce the filming of the second installment. The film is currently scheduled to release in August, 2024.
