Maddock Films has found a beautiful answer through a deeply meaningful partnership with global gifting platform IGP for Ikkis. The upcoming biopic tells the story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, one of India’s youngest and most courageous war heroes who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra at just 21 years of age. Releasing on January 1, the film brings to screen his extraordinary courage, conviction, and sacrifice.
As the official gifting partner of the film, IGP has created a limited edition co branded planter inspired by the values that defined Arun Khetarpal. The collaboration adds a powerful and symbolic dimension to the film’s tribute, allowing audiences to carry a piece of the war hero’s legacy into their homes.
The Planter That Carries History
The specially designed planter is more than just merchandise. It represents bravery, resilience, and an unwavering sense of duty. Designed as a living tribute, the planter features curated artwork and IGP’s signature self watering pot with a hardy snake plant that symbolizes strength and continuity.
What makes this collaboration truly special is the deeply meaningful detail at its core. Each planter contains soil collected from the Arun Khetarpal memorial at The Lawrence School, Sanawar, where the hero studied. The collection was carried out with utmost respect by Lt Gen TS Shergill, the senior most Old Sanawarian Armoured officer, in the presence of the Headmaster and school students. Together, they gathered the soil as a mark of remembrance, ensuring that every planter carries a part of Khetarpal’s legacy and spirit.
Director Sriram Raghavan On The Collaboration
Director Sriram Raghavan shared his thoughts on this unique partnership and what it means for the film. He stated that Ikkis is not just a film for them but a responsibility. Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal’s story deserves to be told with honesty, emotion, and deep respect according to the filmmaker.
He added that this collaboration with IGP adds a beautiful and symbolic layer to that effort. The planter carrying soil from Khetarpal’s memorial allows people to take home a piece of his spirit. The director felt this is the most meaningful way to honor the war hero’s memory.
Agastya Nanda Gets Emotional
Agastya Nanda, who plays Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal in the film, shared how the role changed him forever. He described seeing a tribute like this planter as incredibly special. The actor noted that it is something that grows and holds soil from Khetarpal’s memorial.
He expressed hope that everyone who brings the planter home will feel connected to the war hero’s journey in their own way. The young actor emphasized that it serves as a reminder of the roots Khetarpal came from and the courage he stood for. Playing this character clearly left a lasting impact on Agastya.
