After Stree, Bhediya, Munjya, and Thamma, Maddock Films is now eyeing an Artificial Intelligence-driven addition to its Horror Comedy Universe. Producer Dinesh Vijan is exploring the possibility of creating a full-fledged AI-driven big-screen spectacle that will be a part of the MHCU.
The idea is currently in the development stage. Sources reveal that there are exciting titles in the pipeline, including Bhediya 2, Stree 3, Shakti Shalini with Aneet Padda, and Chamunda with Alia Bhatt. The makers want to integrate an AI film into the slate as well.
High Ambitions For The MHCU
Industry insiders say that Maddock Films has high ambitions with the Horror Comedy Universe. An AI film feels like a natural fit that will widen the possibilities of what can happen in that universe. The concept could prove to be path-breaking for Hindi cinema if it lands successfully. However, things are still in the early stages, and work on the AI film will go on simultaneously with other projects.
First came Stree in 2018. Then Bhediya in 2022, Munjya in 2024, and Thamma followed. Each film gave us a unique character and its world. Now with an AI-driven story, the universe is set to expand in an exciting new direction that has never been explored before in Indian horror comedy films.
Shakti Shalini Next On The Cards
Shakti Shalini is the immediate film that the banner is focusing on. Led by Saiyaara star Aneet Padda, the horror comedy was officially announced with a teaser attached to the latest MHCU offering, Thamma. The project is likely to roll early next year, with shooting expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026.
With multiple films in development and the addition of an AI-driven story, Maddock Films is clearly committed to building one of the most ambitious cinematic universes in Bollywood. Fans of the franchise are eagerly waiting to see what surprises the makers have in store.
