Bollywood actress, Madhuri Dixit, is set to make her OTT debut. The Dhak Dhak girl will star in Netflix’s drama series ‘Finding Anamika’, in which she will portray a global superstar, wife, and mother who mysteriously vanishes. The project will be helmed by Karishma Kohli and Bejoy Nambiar which will be produced by Dharmatic. It is now in production and will be released sometime in the future.
Now it is known that Madhuri has signed another project for Amazon Prime Video. The film is described as a family drama and is titled Mere Paas Maa Hai, which is a play on the legendary Shashi Kapoor phrase from the 1975 Hindi film Deewar. The project, which is being produced by Anand Tiwari and Amritpal Singh Bindra’s Still & Still Media Collective, is set to begin shooting in the coming months.
“Amazon Prime Video continues to make strong efforts to expand its footprint in India on the back of its aggressive strategies. They recently stepped into Bollywood movie production with Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu, and now they’ve started investing in feature films as well. Following the footsteps of its rival Netflix which has been backing web shows as well as Original films, Amazon Prime Video will also make feature films now onwards that will directly release on their streaming platform. This move is expected to up the company’s ante against its rivals and expand the content portfolio further,” a source close to the development informed PeepingMoon.
