Kangana Ranaut, who was in attendance at the Times Now Summit 2021, sparked yet another debate with her remarks on freedom. The actress stated that while India’s independence in 1947 was nothing short of amazing, it was not until 2014 that India truly realised freedom. This comment drew a lot of backlash from social media users, political parties, and others. According to PTI, Maharashtra minister and Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar has reacted to Kangana’s latest statement, which criticised Mahatma Gandhi.
In one of her insta Stories, the actress talked about how Mahatma Gandhi’s nonviolence inspired Subhas Chandra Bose and Bhagat Singh, who were also independence fighters. Commenting on this statement of the actress, Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar called her “nachanewali” and her comments don’t make any sense. As reported in PTI, he said, “If some dancer girl (‘nachanewali’) levels allegations against Mahatma Gandhi, I do not consider it worthy of response.”
He further added how the actress is slammed by maximum people, he said, “Nine out of ten people badmouth her. There is no need to talk more about her.” He used the example of someone spitting at the sun, which causes it to fall back on the person’s face.
Kangana Ranaut sent lengthy remarks on ISTA Stories after her ‘Bheek’ remark sparked outrage, stressing that she never disparaged the sacrifices of freedom fighters.
Her statement also prompted many to call for the government to revoke all of her important honours, and the actress herself stated that she was willing to return her Padma Shri award if she was found to be incorrect in her statement
