Kriti Sanon’s first film as a solo lead star was planned to premiere on Netflix and Jio on July 30. On July 26, Kriti shared a video on her social media account announcing that the film’s cast and crew will be seeing the film together, but from their different homes. She also stated that she and the Mimi team would be live on Instagram at 6:15 p.m. with a big surprise.
However, no one expected the big surprise to be the postponement of the film Mimi’s digital release. The makers have decided to treat the fans with an early release of the film. On Monday, July 26 at 6.30 p.m., the film will go live. Kriti, Laxman Utekar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Dinesh Vijan made the announcement live on Instagram. On Vijan’s birthday and a day before Kriti’s birthday, the film premieres online.
Moreover, it was claimed earlier today that the movie had been pirated online and was available to watch on Telegram. This was a big setback for the production companies (Jio and Maddock Films), as well as the staff and cast. Following the discovery of the leak, the production studio took immediate action to remove the film from the piracy platform.
Mimi, directed by Laxman Utekar, is an entertaining film that explores the topic of surrogacy. Kriti gained 15 pounds to play a convincing pregnant woman on screen. Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, and Supriya Pathak are among the cast members.
