Adipurush has been released in cinemas, and initial reactions to the film directed by Om Raut have been diverse. Some viewers have criticized the visual effects, while others have praised the movie. However, a disturbing incident occurred in Hyderabad, where a video circulating on social media shows a man expressing his views about the film to the press outside Prasad IMAX. Unfortunately, the surrounding crowd reacted violently, assaulting the individual.
While speaking to the press outside Prasad IMAX, the audience member shared his thoughts on Adipurush, stating that the film seemed to include various monsters reminiscent of those found in PlayStation games. He also mentioned that apart from Hanuman, the background score, and a few scattered 3D shots, the film seemed lacking in substance. When asked about Prabhas’ portrayal of Raghav, he expressed his opinion that it did not suit the actor, as he felt Prabhas‘ previous role in Baahubali showcased regality and royalty, which was missing in Adipurush. Unfortunately, his remarks triggered a violent reaction from the surrounding crowd, leading to his assault and eventual rescue.
Ever since the initial teaser of Adipurush was unveiled, the film’s visual effects have faced substantial criticism. The backlash directed at the visual effects prompted the makers to delay the film’s release. However, based on the feedback shared by numerous fans on social media, it seems evident that the VFX department of the film is being closely scrutinized.
Om Raut’s Adipurush, featuring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, and Kriti Sanon, presents a unique interpretation of the epic tale of Ramayana. The film is set to target a global box office opening of over Rs 130 crore. Initial reports indicated that the movie was produced with a budget of Rs 500 crore. However, with the sale of distribution and OTT rights, Adipurush has already generated an impressive revenue of Rs 480 crore.
In the year 2023, among the films released thus far, Pathaan has emerged as a significant box office success. According to Yash Raj Films, the movie crossed the milestone of Rs 100 crore in global box office collections on its release day. As the theatrical run progressed, Pathaan went on to achieve a remarkable milestone of earning over Rs 1000 crore in total revenue.
