Kriti Sanon already wrapped up the shooting for her upcoming film Mimi before the lockdown was imposed. The makers were only left with a lavni dance number to shoot for the film. Now the team have decided to shoot the remaining song by the end of December 2021.
The film is directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films in association with Jio Studios. Confirming the schedule the director confirms that they planning to shoot the song in Mumbai. However, they wanted to shoot the song in Rajasthan but it is not feasible amid the pandemic to take the huge cast and crew there.
Now it has been decided to bring the international cast to Mumbai as the song is important for the narrative and that the cast is required for continuity. As far as the song is concerned, it is composed by AR Rahman.
The makers are yet to finalize the release of the film. Mimi is based on the Marathi film Mala Aai Vhaaychy which won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi in 2011. The actress plays the role of a surrogate mother.
