Mirai Box Office Collection Day 8: Teja Sajja Starrer Dips On Second Friday, Earns ₹11.15 Crore In Total

The Hindi version of Teja Sajja’s latest film, Mirai, has slowed down significantly at the box office. After a decent start, the film has struggled to maintain its momentum. On its eighth day, which was its second Friday in theatres, Mirai saw a major dip in collections, earning an estimated ₹40 lakh.

This brings the total collection of the film’s Hindi-dubbed version to ₹11.15 crore. The film, which was distributed in the Hindi belt by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, is now facing a tough road ahead.

A Sharp Drop In The Second Week

The collection on the second Friday marks a sharp decline of around 45 percent compared to its earnings on Thursday. This drop is a clear sign that the film is losing its audience in the Hindi-speaking regions. There are a couple of major reasons for this. Firstly, the film received mixed reviews and word-of-mouth from the audience in its first week.

Secondly, the release of the big-budget sequel, Jolly LLB 3, this weekend has taken away a large chunk of the audience and screen count. With a major new film in cinemas, smaller films like Mirai often find it difficult to compete for attention.

Mirai’s First Week Box Office Journey

Mirai had a respectable start, opening with ₹1.40 crore on its first day. The collections picked up over the weekend, with Saturday bringing in ₹2.40 crore and Sunday marking its best day with ₹2.90 crore. However, the film could not keep up the pace during the weekdays.

After the strong opening weekend, the collections fell to ₹95 lakh on its first Monday. The film remained steady but at low levels for the rest of the week, ultimately ending its first seven days with a total collection of ₹10.75 crore in the Hindi belt.

The Road Ahead

With the significant drop on its second Friday and tough competition, the theatrical run for the Hindi version of Mirai seems to be nearing its end. It is expected to finish its time in cinemas soon, which is an unfortunate result for its Hindi release.

However, it’s important to note that the film has performed well in other languages and regions. The source material confirms that, overall, Mirai has already been declared a “Clean Hit” venture because of its strong performance outside the Hindi market.
