Having already done her spooky thing in The Bhootnii, Mouni Roy now will bring plenty of fun and laughter in her next outing, David Dhawan’s Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. And she isn’t alone and will join Varun Dhawan in an ensemble cast in a film that promises to be nothing short of a laugh riot straight out of the Dhawan school of chaos.
Ramesh Taurani of TIPS is producing the film, which also promises to reunite the father-son duo after Coolie No. 1 – but throws in an ensemble element. And while shooting the ongoing schedule in Glasgow, Mouni shared candid footage alongside Varun and Mrunal Thakur on her Instagram. The video also features the trio having a good time on set.
What differentiates Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is its full ensemble heavyweight division – Pooja Hegde, Chunkey Panday, Jimmy Shergill, Maniesh Paul, Kubbra Sait, Rakesh Bedi, Rajeev Khandelwal, Rohit Saraf, Ali Asgar, Sreeleela, etc. – all adding a distinctive flair to the story.
The Glasgow schedule for the film is projected to run a month long and will evidently comprise song sequences, comic set pieces and off-beat romance. With David Dhawan in charge, there are high hopes for a proper Bollywood entertainer, which evokes all his great comedies of the 90s but with a Gen-Z twist to them.
Take a look
As the production barrels along, the insiders suggest that more surprise cameos and high-voltage comic moments are still under wraps. With Mouni taking on this world, fans can expect her glam to go wild, the artistic point where only David Dhawan can make it seem sophisticated.
