Mumbai Court REJECTS further NCB custody of Aryan Khan & others, decision on interim bail plea tomorrow

In Mumbai’s Killa Court today, the 23-year-old son of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan and other suspects were presented. On Monday, Aryan Khan was denied bail and his NCB custody was prolonged until Thursday.

Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant, Munmun Dhamecha, and five others were brought before the court for remand. The case was heard today in Killa Court, where Aryan Khan’s lawyer objected to NCB’s petition for his client’s continued remand.

According to Bar and Bench, Aryan Khan and others have been placed in judicial custody as a result of the court’s orders. The court ruled in its judgement that the case has not progressed further and that the accused cannot be held as hostages.

A tweet by Bar and Bench read, “ORDER contd: (recording submissions) … No further development was made. Remanding the accused to police custody is serious concern and IO is required to give reasons.” And the next tweet reads, “ORDER contd.: (recording submissions) … Therefore, the accused cannot be made hostage, till the main culprit is found, they have prayed for judicial custody … The same has been reiterated by other accused.”

Further the court order read, “NO custodial interrogation is required as sufficient time and opportunity was granted to NCB for investigation. Hence, they are remanded to judicial custody”
