In the instance of rapper Badshah’s bogus views, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch has filed a charge sheet. The police claim in the 446-page chargesheet that Aditya Prateek Singh aka Badshah paid Rs 74 lakh in exchange for 72 lakh views on one of his videos. According to reports, the chargesheet includes the names of 11 panchs, 25 witnesses, and five defendants. Four of the five accused have been apprehended, and witnesses Badshah and Koena Mitra have been implicated in the case. One of the defendants in the case claimed to have gained 7-8 new followers when speaking to a big newspaper. According to another accuser, who works as a technician, no action has been taken against celebrities who have grown their following, even after they admitted it.
Even the company’s CFO, who worked for Badshah, revealed that the rapper-singer paid him Rs 74,26,370 to inflate views on the video in question. It all started when singer Bhumi Trivedi went to Mumbai Police and filed a FIR stating that someone was using her bogus ID to contact individuals on Instagram. According to sources, rapper Badshah admitted to the police during questioning that he had purchased phoney views for one of his music videos in order to set a world record. Badshah stated earlier in a statement, ‘Following the summons, I spoke to the Mumbai Police. I’ve categorically denied all the allegations levelled against me and made it clear that I was never involved in such practices, nor do I condone them.’
It’s been almost a year since the cops broke the phoney views ring, which was allegedly used by celebrities to boost their social media followers, likes, and comments. On the professional front, Badshah is enjoying the popularity of his latest single, ‘Jugnu.’
