Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta is all set to restart filming his next film Mumbai Saga. The 10-12 day schedule for a song and climax shoot will have 30 member crew at the Ramoji Studios in Hyderabad. The makers will take care of the guidelines provided by the government.
John Abraham starer Mumbai Saga is based on real events between the 1980s-90s and the clashes between gangsters and cops and what led to Bombay renamed as Mumbai. The film also stars Rohit Roy, who has previously worked in gangster drama. According to the actor, this role is quite different from his previous film.
Speaking about John and experience working with him, he said that John was pretty different from what he is on screen. He also told the daily that John has a great sense of humor. Ronit said when he worked with Hrithik Roshan in Kaabil he never thought he would meet someone as secure as him, however, the actor said John and Hrithik were both cut out of the same cloth.
“A lot of factors led up to the change, which is what the story, inspired by real events, is about. There’s no shootout here, but a direct faceoff between cops and gangsters,” Rohit said.
The actor recalled his starting days when he had an interacting with the underworld, “I was called for a narration and told to do the film with a gun casually pointed at me from the table. I had no choice but to give my nod. Thankfully, it was shelved”.
Presently Rohit is busy directing and acting in a series of inhouse shorts with wife, Mansi Joshi.
