In a humorous incident, Saurabh Shukla recalled how he and Ranbir Kapoor consumed an expensive bottle of rum while visiting Leh Ladakh for shooting.
Together, Shukla and Kapoor have appeared in movies like ‘Barfi’, ‘Jagga Jasoos’, and Yash Raj Productions’ actioner ‘Shamshera’ from a year ago. In their first collaboration for the big screen, ‘Brahmastra’, which also came out last year, Kapoor and Nagarjuna worked together.
In the most recent episode of Unfiltered By Samdish, Saurabh Shukla discussed his preferred beverage. He said that Old Monk and coke is his go-to combination since it is ‘easily available and reasonably priced.’
Shukla continued by saying that he had also had an expensive rum with Ranbir Kapoor while the two were apparently filming for Shamshera in Leh. He said, “I have had a rum which costs Rs 30,000 a bottle. Woh mujhe Ranbir Kapoor ne pilayi thi, usko Nagarjuna ne pilayi thi (Ranbir Kapoor made me drink it, and it was Nagarjuna who made Ranbir drink). It wasn’t a full bottle, a quarter was not in it when Ranbir had opened it.”
Shukla responded when questioned if Ranbir Kapoor had brought the bottle after partially emptying it. He said, “No, as in, he must have drank from it. I was in Leh so he asked me, ‘Sir what are you drinking?’ I said Old Monk, so he said I will make you drink this. Dono ne khoob pi (We drank a lot). But then it got over, so he said, ‘Sir thodi kam pad gayi’. Then I asked him if he will have Old Monk, he said yes and then maine usko Old Monk pilayi (and then I made him drink Old Monk).”
With more than three decades of acting experience, Saurabh Shukla is well-known for his roles in movies like Satya, Nayak: The True Hero, Luck By Chance, Barfi!, and Jolly LLB, among others. Meanwhile talking about Ranbir Kapoor, He is currently busy in ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar’ promotions.
