Nagarjuna’s milestone 100th film has found its biggest conversation starter in Tabu. The two stars, who last shared screen space 28 years ago, are reuniting for King100, and this time the dynamic is anything but familiar. Tabu will play the antagonist, setting up a clash that instantly gives the film both emotional recall and dramatic bite.
The pairing carries its own history. Nagarjuna and Tabu first worked together in Ninne Pelladata in 1996, a Telugu romantic drama that enjoyed a strong box office run and won major acclaim. They later appeared together in Aavida Maa Aavide and Sisindri, but have not appeared together on screen since. That long gap makes King100 feel less like routine casting and more like a headline event.
Tabu’s Villain Turn Powers King100’s First Big Reveal
King100 has completed its first schedule, with Tabu stepping in as the antagonist opposite Nagarjuna. Directed by RA Karthik and produced by Annapurna Studios, the film has now locked in the update that gives this reunion its real spark.
The source report states: “Variety India has learned that Nagarjuna’s 100th film, tentatively titled “King100,” will see him sharing screen space with Tabu after 28 years. This time around, she will be playing the antagonist. The first schedule of the film was wrapped up recently. Directed by RA Karthik, the film is produced by Annapurna Studios.”
That role choice feels especially apt for Tabu, who has repeatedly excelled at playing women with a dangerous edge. Her performances in Maqbool, Haider, Fitoor and Andhadhun showed how effectively she can bring mystery, authority and menace to the screen. In King100, that instinct is likely to become one of the film’s central draws. Database listings also indicate Sushmitha Bhat among the cast, while the film remains unreleased as of July 2026.
Nagarjuna’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Nagarjuna was last seen in Kuberaa in 2025, directed by Sekhar Kammula, alongside Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna. Before that, he appeared in Naa Saami Ranga in 2024. His recent run also includes Bangarraju, The Ghost and Brahmāstra Part One Shiva, which kept him visible across Telugu and Hindi cinema. Looking ahead, verified database listings show Lenin as an unreleased project attached to him.
Tabu’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Tabu’s recent film run includes Khufiya, Kuttey and Bholaa in 2023, followed by Crew and Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha in 2024. She also expanded her international footprint with Dune: Prophecy, playing Sister Francesca. In 2026, she appeared in Bhooth Bangla alongside Akshay Kumar, Wamiqa Gabbi and Paresh Rawal. Now, with King100, she is not simply reuniting with Nagarjuna after a long gap, she is walking into the film as its wild card, a move that instantly raises the stakes for one of the most keenly watched star vehicles in production.
