The much-awaited third instalment of the Aashiqui franchise has been in the news for a long time. Fans have been eagerly waiting for more updates the film, which is set to star Kartik Aaryan in the lead role and be directed by Anurag Basu.
Since Kartik Aaryan was finalised in the lead, there have been many speculations around who the leading actress is going to be. The speculation about Tara Sutaria involvement in the film, Aashiqui 3 started after she and Kartik Aaryan were spotted together outside a restaurant in Mumbai but was denied by producer Mukesh Bhatt.
Triptii Dimri roped to play the female lead in Aashiqui 3?
As per the latest reports, Triptii Dimri who is basking in the glory of success of Animal has been locked as the main lead of Aashiqui 3 opposite Kartik Aryan. The actress who quickly rose to being the National crush after the release of Animal, will be paired up opposite Kartik Aaryan for the first time.
Interestingly, both were roped in together for Sharan Sharma’s sports drama almost two years back but however it did not materialise. The filmmaker went ahead with Rajkummar Rao and Jahnvi Kapoor, for the film titled Mr. And Mrs. Mahi.
“Triptii has been the talk of the town following the historic success of Animal and the makers feel that she would set the screen on fire with Kartik Aaryan. The conversations have been on for quite some time and the makers have now locked her as the female lead,” revealed a source close to the development to Pinkvilla.
Aashiqui 3 to go on floors in first quarter of 2024
The film is reportedly set to go on floors in the first quarter of 2024 and the other members of the cast will be locked soon. As per the source, both Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri will be participating in workshops and script reading sessions before commencing the shoot for Aashiqui 3. This film marks the first collaboration between the two actors, and their on-screen chemistry is expected to be fresh and exciting.
“It’s a new space for Kartik too and he will be looking to explore the intense side of romance. He has been a graduate of rom-coms and will now be switching zones to another world of love stories. He is also very excited to embark on this journey,” the source added.
Aashiqui 3 is the third installment of the popular Aashiqui franchise. The previous two films were released in 1990 and 2013, respectively. The film is expected to be a romantic drama with music playing a crucial role in the narrative.
Meanwhile, Kartik is also set to start work on the Anees Bazmee-directed Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which is gearing up for a Diwali 2024 release.
