And now, in a first, none other than Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos has openly stated admiration for the series while looking back on his close relationship with Shah Rukh Khan.
Ted Sarandos Remembers Meeting Shah Rukh Khan
Ted Sarandos appeared on Nikhil Kamath’s podcast and was asked about his favourite Indian collaborators. He skilfully navigated the answer without explicitly stating any one person as his favourite. But when he spoke about Shah Rukh Khan, he couldn’t hide his enthusiasm:
“Early in coming to India, I met Shah Rukh Khan right away. He hosted a really nice little dinner for me, we just hit it off right away.”
Sarandos also shared that their relationship went beyond Indian soil:
“We saw each other in Los Angeles when his son was in school.”
He mentioned that going out for a meal with SRK in India is an important cultural experience because it is “very different” than having a meal with him in LA.
