Since the Coronavirus Pandemic started, a day did not go wherein the cases didn’t rise up. With so many increasing cases, all the work in the film industry including every other industry is on a standstill.
When the situations are such that the theaters are shut too amid social distancing, the only way of entertainment are the OTT platforms. Many of the makers of films have even opted for the online platforms for the release of their films.
It was just a couple of weeks earlier, the exhibitors got a jolt when as many as 7 films were announced as direct-to-OTT release, on Disney+ Hotstar. And now, they are in for a far bigger shock. Now another platform is going to stream their list of Bollywood film which will now not see the face of theaters. This announcement will be made by Nexflix on July 16.
We have got a hold of the list of 10 films that are expected to be announced in the upcoming days by Netflix. The list includes the following films:
- AK vs AK:
Anil Kapoor is all set for his upcoming film AK vs AK. The movie is a direction by Vikramaditya Motwane. The story revolves around a filmmaker who kidnaps the daughter of a popular movie star and then without his knowledge, the former films how he searches his daughter.
- Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare:
Directed by Alankrita Shrivasyava, this film stars Konkona Sen Sharma and Bhumi Pednekar. It is produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under their banner Balaji Telefilms.
- Ginny Weds Sunny:
Starring Yami Gautam and Vikrant Massey, Ginny Weds Sunny is directed by debutant director Puneer Khanna. It is produced by Vinod Bachchan and has been exclusively shot ag the real life locations in Delhi, Ghaziabas, Noida, Karnal and Manali.
- Torbaaz:
Torbaaz is a direction by Girish Malik. The film is set in the Afghanistan city of Kabul, it deals with the child suicide bombers issues. Starring Sanjay Dutt and Nagrgis Fakhri, it is produced by Rahul Mittra.
- Indoo Ki Jawani:
After Guiltyz Indoo Ki Jawani becomes second Netflix film. The film also stars Aditya Seal and is produced by Nikkhil Advani.
6. Ludo:
Anurag Basu’s Ludo movie stars Rajkummar Rao, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanya Malhotra, Pankaj Tripathi and Aditya Roy Kapur in the pivotal roles. It is said to be a complicated romantic drama.
- The Girl On The Train:
Parineeti Chopra’s film The Girl On The Train is the remake of the Hollywood film of the same name. Along with Parineeti, the film also features Aditi Rao Hydari, Kirti Kulhari and Vatsal Sheth. It is a direction by Ribhu Dasgupta.
- Raat Akeli Hai:
Raat Akeli Hai stars Radhika Apte, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shweta Tripathi, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Ila Arun and Swanand Kirkire. It marks the directorial debut of casting director Honey Trehan. It is a crime thriller which is set in 1980s of Uttar Pradesh.
- Anurag Kashyap’s Upcoming Film With Alaya F:
Jawaani Janeman fame Alaya F bagged the lead role in this Anurag Kashyap directorial. The film is said to be a love story which is reportedly titled as Project 10.
Apart from all these, the another film that was announced by Netflix earlier was Janhvi Kapoor starrer Gunjan Saxena. It is produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios. The film also portrays Pankaj Tripathi, Angad Bedi, Manav Vij and Viineet Kumar Singh in pivotal roles.
