Trolls have recently targeted Sara Ali Khan, who made her acting debut in the Sushant Singh Rajput-starring film Kedarnath. On the occasion of Maha Shivrati, she posted some pictures of herself on Instagram seated in front of an idol of Lord Shiva. She penned ‘Jai Bholenath’ as the caption.
For those who are unaware, Sara was born to actor Amrita Singh, a Hindu, and actor Saif Ali Khan, a Muslim. She has always accepted, valued, and respected both of her parents’ chosen religions in India, a country known for its secularism. She does, however, frequently become the subject of trolls.
As soon as she uploaded her pictures, Netizens started slamming her in the comment section. Even some netizens started fighting over the religions. A user wrote, ‘Bholenath ko peeth dikha kar baithne par ninda karta hoon’. While another one wrote, ‘Bas aane wali film boycott na ho isliye’.

It is really sad to see such tweets coming around. Religion does not have a barrier, God is one and we all should believe in it. Incidentally, Sara Ali Khan has previously faced criticism from Islamists. She was assaulted on the previous Maha Shivratri because she had posted a photo of herself doing puja at the Omkareshwar Temple. Similar hatred was meted out to her in 2021 for traveling to Ujjain Mahakal before the release of her film “Atrangi Re.” The same year, she was labeled an ‘infidel’ for going to the Kedarnath temple.
Meanwhile Sara is currently working on her upcoming movie ‘Metro… In Dino’.
