Netizens react as the remake of Rajesh Khanna-Amitabh Bachchan’s Anand announced; “Leave the classics alone”

Fans, however, did not seem too happy with the news of Anand’s remake.

Anand was released nearly a half-century ago, but it has remained relevant for its millions of fans. Taking advantage of this nostalgia, Sameer Raj Sippy has announced a remake of his grandpa N.C. Sippy’s 1971 smash drama, which featured Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan. Vikram Khakhar will co-produce the remake, which will be set in the post-Covid era.

According to the producers, the film is now in the screenplay stage, and a director has yet to be chosen. Hrishikesh Mukherjee directed the original film, which depicts the narrative of a man who refuses to accept the finality of his impending death and gives an inspirational message of optimism and harmony.
