On Saturday, August 7, 2021, at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, Javelin Throw hero Neeraj Chopra broke India’s 100-year drought for a gold medal in athletics. Celebrities from Bollywood, politicians, and netizens took to social media to express their support for the great javelin thrower.
The Javelin Throw star claimed the country’s second gold medal in the history of the Olympic games with his epic 87.58m throw. His historic victory increased India’s medal tally to seven, the most the country has ever won in a single event. Chopra’s victory was celebrated by Indians around the country, who uploaded clips of him making history in Tokyo.
Along with the celebratory remarks, a number of memes were also shared on social media, with some claiming that Akshay Kumar would star in a Neeraj Chopra biography in the near future.
