Alia Bhatt referred to actor Saif Ali Khan’s kid Ibrahim Ali Khan as the prettiest person in the business during her appearance on director Karan Johar’s chat program Koffee with Karan in Season 7. After seeing her movie Gangubai Kathiawadi, Ibrahim texted her, and she even read it. However, the actress’s “tone” has infuriated online users.
She went on to read the message Ibrahim sent her. It read, “Had to remove the time to message you personally…I cannot believe this is the same lady, I learn from every time, you’re just phenomenal. You’re so so good as Gangu and seeing you as Rani and then watching this film, it’s safe to say you mould yourself effortlessly, like water taking shape of its container. So So good! Best actress in this country”.
Recent criticism of Alia for her “condescending tone” came from a Reddit member who published an article about the same topic. They described the actress’s actions as “downright unpleasant,” claiming that Alia made Ibrahim’s touching letter into a joke in front of everyone.
Other netizens on the platform agreed and called out the Gully Boy star. A comment read, “Maybe to counter her bad English, remember archeck. How old are these people to mock a kid who sent a congratulatory message? They are really a bunch of bullies. All of them.”
Another said, “Publicly mocking his English and ridiculing him that too for a compliment he gave her … such lowly behaviour. Alia herself was subjected to relentless mocking during her “Prithviraj Chauhan” phase and she hasn’t gained any sense of empathy from that.”
